Hiking tips
Combine your visit to the castle with a hike
Hike from Fiè to Prösels Castle
Starting point Fiè di Sopra, past the Hotel Heubad, until waymark No. 6 forks off to the right. The path winds through steep meadows to Rio di Fiè, crosses the stream and then bends to the right immediately after the bridge. At a fork (path 6 to the right and path U to the left) follow the flatter, right path. Soon you will reach the road from Umes to Presule. Continue on path 6 through open fields and reach Presule and Prösels Castle.

The Aica di Fiè/Oachner Höfeweg Farm Trail
The Aica di Fiè farm trail begins at Castle Prösels. Follow the signposts for “Oachner Höfeweg”, going past a few wine cellars (“Wirtskeller”) and through the wood up to the Maso Flungerhof/Flungerhof farm. Through mixed and chestnut woods, the trail leads high above the Isarco/Eisack Valley and on to the farms of Tommele and Gmoaner. Passing by the Prackfolerhof farm and the Gstatschhof, the walk takes you through meadows and mountain vineyards to the Zoarhof farm, where our path meets with the road and leads up to the Fronthof und Finger Hof farms. Now we head into the head down into the depths and the Rio Laus/Lausbach stream, over a little suspension bridge and, on the other side, up again to the Tires/Tiers road. The way back leads past the Schnaggenkreuz cross, a good vantage point for views over Fiè/Völs and the Sciliar/Schlern massif. Trail no. 5 leads back to Presule.
